Michael is honored to be serving the Highland Park community. He is originally from the Northwest Suburbs and attended James B. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, IL.
For his undergraduate education he attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There, he double majored in Communications and Spanish. After college, Michael worked for a non-for-profit Early Intervention education grant. The grant provided educational services to bilingual, low-income, and special education students and their families. Michael soon developed an interest in counseling and therapy which lead him to the counseling program at DePaul University. Michael earned his Masters in Counseling and Psychotherapy from DePaul University. During his time at DePaul, Michael simultaneously worked full time for a large technology company where he specialized in training and communications. He strives to incorporate the benefits and innovations of technology into his counseling duties on a regular basis.
Michael is passionate about advocating for his students and guiding them through the ups and downs of life. He believes in a person centered and solution focused approach to counseling. He also co-leads "Cafecitos" for Spanish speaking families to attend for information and updates on everything going on at Niles North. When he's not at school Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, daughter, Nora, son, Evan and their rescue dog, Crosby.
